At Divine Revelations Ministries, Inc. (DRMI), we understand that managing anger is a vital part of personal growth and community well-being. Control the Fire!© 2015 is a 5–12 week, group-based anger management program designed to support individuals as they learn to understand and manage both controlled and uncontrolled anger in healthy, productive ways.
Rooted in a whole-person (holistic) approach, the program offers a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where participants can explore emotions, build self-awareness, and develop practical skills for lasting change. Guided by experienced facilitators, participants engage in evidence-based strategies, therapeutic interventions, and reflective activities that address the underlying causes of anger and emotional distress.
Developed by Mark F. and Bernice McMillan of Divine Revelations Ministries, Inc., the curriculum reflects more than 25 years of experience in counseling, mentoring, emotional management, and life-skills facilitation. The program has been updated and strengthened through expert review, including subject-matter input in 2020 and a formal curriculum analysis in 2024 conducted by Dr. Fran Close, Professor of Behavioral Science & Health Education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). These enhancements reinforce alignment with evidence-based and evidence-informed practices effective with individuals, families, and adult male and female incarcerated populations.
