Mark Fernandes McMillan
Mark is the President and CEO of DRMI. Born in Quincy, FL, Mark is an ordained Pastor, Reverend, and licensed minister. He is a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist with the Florida Certification Board and Certified Life Coach with extensive experience in coaching, mentoring, prison ministry, youth development, substance abuse counseling, elder issues, family and individual counseling, volunteerism, television and radio ministry/production, sales and customer service. Mark is an entrepreneur who owned his own clothing business, and now focuses on promoting the workshops, materials, programs and services offered through DRMI. Mark’s passion lies within prison ministry. He devotes much of his time to teaching, mentoring, counseling, life coaching and ministerial duties for male and female inmates in correctional facilities throughout Florida. Mark co-authored the Control the Fire©2015 anger management curriculum, where he launched and facilitated the curriculum in Wakulla Correctional Facility. The curriculum is currently available for use at correctional facilities throughout Florida.
Bernice McMillan - born in Alexandria, Va., Bernice later moved to Utica, NY where she met and married Pastor Mark; together they formed DRMI. Bernice is a licensed minister and ordained Pastor with extensive experience in training, curriculum development, human development, community development, mentoring, coaching, child/youth development, parenting education, volunteerism, prison ministry and customer service. Bernice has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, is certified in CompTia Project Management, and has over 18 years in corporate and non-profit management. She is employed as a Training Manager for a Florida State agency. Bernice dedicates her time to supporting the various programs and administration of DRMI. Bernice has received several recognitions for her community development and volunteerism, including the Outstanding Woman of the Year-Racial Justice (Utica YWCA), Accent on Excellence Award (Northland Communications/Utica Observer Dispatch), Mother Lavender Award, Person of the Year (Cornhill Community for Change), Extra Mile Award (Cornell Cooperative Extension). In 2016, Mark & Bernice were recognized as the Family of the Year by Capital Outlook (Tallahassee, Fl.). Combined, Mark and Bernice have a total of 7 children: Marquise, CJ, Caleigh, Aisha, Malcolm, Akela and Alisha; and they have 13 grandchildren. They reside in Tallahassee, Florida.
